The Daily Home: Daily Home - Partnership formed to promote city on television station

  • jwa_35161 · 9 months ago
This may be a terrific idea but isn't it "preaching to the choir"? Much of ABC 3340's viewing area is the immediate area when it makes most sense to market the City to outside interest. It sounds to me that this is scheme to promote the Race and the Speedway and get the city and chamber to pay for it.

Carol, I read with amusement how you or one of your staff members chastised the Sylacauga City Council members for spending money in a media outlet, that was obvious not the DH, and in the same paper, there is a big story about the city of Talladega spending thousands of dollars to advertise on an out of town t.v. station. Is this double standards? There is a local t.v. station that reaches out of the area, and there is the Daily Home, The Munford Weekly, etc. Does King Stampfler and his puppets get a free pass on their action? Just curious. Not ashamed or afraid to sign my name..Larry Barton

I see my comments were removed about the city of Talladega spending thousands of dollars, but at least I was able to send it out to all my readers and now I will let them know that you are biased in what you print....very interesting.Larry Barton

    Mr. Anderson,
Do you ever have anything POSITIVE to say about anything? Talladega Superspeedway supports this community in so many ways that you are not even aware of. Try directing your efforts toward solutions rather than spewing negative comments of which you are ingnorant of.

It is real hard to say anything POSITIVE, about this City when all you see is negative everywhere you look..You can't even go to the City Council, for help, without being treated like, a fool , and made look like a liar,

The city manager did nothing on this project. Much like the Tree City designation, other city departments wprked on this project and then he swooped in and claimed the credit. The cost is $6,000 and not $4,000, but this idiot doesn't know that because he didn't work on the project.

The concerned employee is right.....It's just like the grant obtained to put a sewer system near Frazier farms. He had nothing to do with that either. The water and sewer board, ADECA and a couple of councilmen had been working on that 8 or 9 months before Stampfler ever got here.

When is the council gonna get rid of this guy?
